VFR TRAINERS

Who We Are

Jenny Shrout

I founded VFR Veterans & First Responders LLC in an effort to give back to my community. I am a retired Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff who provides dog training to the general public. I also train service dogs for Veterans and First Responders free of charge.  All proceeds go toward providing proper equipment and the training of these service dogs.

The characteristics that best describe my training style are compassionate, patient, disciplined, and consistent focus, knowing that each dog is different, and giving them guidance that is tailored to their needs.

James Silva

James is a lead trainer for VFR and is a retired Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant having served 21 years in the military. He has been training service dogs for over 5 years and has an innate ability to sense dog behavior.

His confidence and compassion make him an asset to VFR training. His service dog Sierra is an Advanced/Urban AKC Canine Good Citizen and an intuitive instructor dog for all VFR service dogs
